E-470 has tolls because it relies on the profit for maintenance. It doesn't receive state or federal funding, so the tolls go towards paying debt service, operations and roadway improvement projects. While it's highly unlikely that these tolls will get removed, they're at least not increasing for the upcoming year.

If the account remains unpaid for 90 days, the account becomes delinquent and all overdue toll transactions will be sent to a collections law firm for up to four months in an attempt to find the customer and collect payment. The unpaid tolls, the $5 late fee and a one-time $20 collection fee are due at this time.

How do I pay a toll? All tolls are collected by electronic toll collection. This means no stopping, no tollbooth congestion and no change is needed. Simply drive under the electronic toll reader and the toll is deducted automatically from an active ExpressToll account.

You can view all account information online or via The Toll Roads app. If you have an invoice account, an invoice of accumulated tolls is sent to you monthly via postal mail and an invoice fee is assessed.

How Does It Work? ExpressToll is the all-electronic toll collection system available on E-470, Northwest Parkway, and the I-25 Express Lanes. With a free windshield or motorcycle-mounted sticker tag or transponder, customers' tolls are automatically deducted from a pre-paid toll account.

How is GO-PASS different from ExpressToll? With ExpressToll, you establish an account with a pre-paid balance and receive a tag for each vehicle on your account. Your tolls are deducted from your account balance when you drive the road. With GO-PASS, you don't need to pre-pay for any tolls.

Travelers are never forced to pay a toll. To use any Colorado Express Lanes, you will need an ExpressToll account and pass to avoid a higher toll. The Switchable HOV3+ Transponder is the only pass that allows you to choose the carpool option.
