      Fenwick is a variant of Corsi that counts only shots on goal and missed shots; blocked shots are not included. Its another measure to indicate puck possession in the offensive zone. The greater the puck possession in the zone, the greater a players's chance of scoring, assisting, etc.

      The more often a player is on the ice during a power play the better chance they have of earning goals, assists and, obviously, power play points. Players whose coaches trust them in the power play can be quite valuable for fantasy.

      Definition

      The number of stints a skater logs during a game.

      Why does this stat matter for fantasy?

      You can't score fantasy points if you're not on the ice. Along with time on ice, shift count is a direct measure of how much general opportinity a player is receiving.

    • SHT - Short-Handed Time

      Definition

      Total time YTD a skater has been on the ice while short-handed

      Why does this stat matter for fantasy?

      The more often a player is on the ice when their team is in the penalty the better chance they have of earning short-handed statistics.

    • ZS-Pct - Zone Start Percentage

      Definition

      Zone Start percentage is the ratio of how many faceoffs a player is on the ice for in the offensive zone relative to the total offensive plus defensive zone faceoffs he is on the ice for. Neutral zone faceoffs are ignored.

      Why does this stat matter for fantasy?

      Players with a higher zone start percentage tend to have more opportunities to shoot, score and assist because they are in the offensive zone more than in the defensive zone.
